Is Your Self Worth Destroying Your Chances For Success?

Have you ever considered the possibility that your life or financial success is caused by your own self-worth?

I have a lot of friends who have the knowledge and skills to achieve success in life but more often than not, they don't end up making what they are truly capable of making.

Why is this the case?

It's because of how they view themselves... and their own self worth.

If you think you may be one of these people, and would like to learn a few techniques and tips to adjust your self worth, all for F.R.E.E register for this "mini" 3 video series where my friend John Assaraf will teach you...

and have been doing for the last 2 months!

If there's one thing I've learned about making your life a success, it's to get your mind

How To Work Smart (Part 1: Goal Planning)...

We made it! :-)

How was Christmas for you - great to see friends and family and slightly good to be back to it, non?! And if you worked, I hope it was a productive time for you.

Here's a fact for you:

...did you know that 92-95% of people setting goals for themselves never actually achieve their goal...?

In my past work, I worked as a Project Planning consultant. So I'd go in to large IT companies and build them project plans. I'd track and monitor plans daily as my job, and ensure that plans were followed and goals met.

My problem was that although I was actually quite good at what I did at work, planning and achieving in my home life and outside of work was really difficult for me. It still is.

Over the Christmas break, I made a decision to work on my own mind-set to realise my full potential for success...

I have long realised that I am not achieving to my potential and it's down to my mind-set. Yes I'm doing ok, but I'm not at my full potential.

So I'm taking time each and every day to work on my mind-set.

Working Hard vs. Working Smart
Those 92-95% of people do not achieve the goals they set because they do not exercise in cognitive priming: they do not instruct their brain to find a solution to their goals.

Now, this may all sound hocus-pocus to you and indeed it would have done to me before I learned more about it, but it manifests itself in very real ways that we take for granted daily and it's widely recognised in neuro-science.

Remember how we are always taught to "stay motivated, set goals and work hard"?

Persistence and will power are great tools to have but there are more effective tools to use to achieve our goals. You see, when our persistence and will power muscles get tired and stressed, we revert back to our old habits; our comfort zone where we do not achieve and remain in our own status quo.

Working smart is obviously better but what does this actual mean?

It's been said that will power and persistence could be seen as tool numbers 4 and 5 in our tool kit to actually achieving our goals. This means that there are 3 other areas that are much more powerful, but most of us DO NOT tap in to in order to achieve our goals that we set ourselves.

Achieving goals is an unconscious process..
... and to use this subconscious area properly, we need to train our brains daily, but there is a hidden enemy that upsets and curtails the process.

The "Expectation Set Point" (ESP). This is our unconscious level of 'success' that we perceive ourselves to be capable of. For most of us, it does not match the level of our dreams. We all have our dreams of a certain lifestyle but we subconsciously revert back to working at our ESP in times of stress, which means we never can achieve our goals or our potential.

There is a NUMBER ONE cause that underlies all of this non-achieving. It's so powerful that it's honestly no wonder we almost never achieve our goals.

I'm going to go into that in my next post, when we will explore the brain's mechanisms that make achieving our goals a real battle unless we understand what we are up against and how to overcome them.

I hope you find this as equally a fascinating subject as I do - if nothing else, at least you will be aware of what you are up against when you set yourself your goals...

Look out for my next post in a day or so which will exactly what we are battling against when attempting to achieve our goals.

If you can relate to this, let me know - I'd love to hear your story... what are your sticking points? What do you think is holding you back? If I can help you I will. If I can't, well, I can ask one of my contacts for some advice for you too. I belong to a very helpful online community, where we look out for one-another, so solutions are never far away.

10 Toxic Habits You Need To Destroy To Be Successful

Here's a dangerously close-to-the-bone article by Chris Dessi, and for me it certainly rings worryingly true for 2 of these....

...which are your Achilles heel?:

We all want to be successful, but we don't want to face what's holding us back. Many of us ignore blind spots, only to fall prey to our shortcomings down the line. So how can we trim the fat, cut our faults to the bone, and get into the habit of success?

Here are 10 toxic habits you need to destroy to allow success to find you:

1. Idolizing those who have already done it.

We all need people to learn from. My concern kicks in when leaders of industry take on a near deity status. I have a huge amount of respect for many of them, but they're not you. Nobody is living your journey.

Use their experience to help guide you, but nobody has the same path to success. Success has indicators and certain certain patterns, but use the pieces that apply to you and dispel the rest.

2. Comparing yourself to peers.

This past weekend I visited a friend's summer home. It was larger than my full-time residence. I joked with his wife that I want to be happy for them, but there's this small part of me that hates them. So, I get it. We all want to have what we don't have. But there is a time when you need to let go of comparison.

Take that energy and focus on how you can improve your performance as it compares to itself.

3. Rationalizing not trying.

Nothing is worse than saying "if only." Things are the way they are. Define what you want to change, and go about changing it. If you can't leave your job because you have to pay your mortgage, I get it. But don't complain you want to start a business, and say "I wish."

No more wishing. Stop watching Netflix, or golfing, or going to the Yankees game, and use that time to build your business and break free. Or just shut up about it.

4. Feeding a low opinion of yourself.

I've met people who've been in one job for years and think they're destined to be miserable in that role forever. You have the capacity to learn a new skill, and you can jump industries. It will be difficult, but what happens if you never try?

Shake off the fear of the unknown, dispel your self-limiting belief that hugely successful people are more talented than you. They're just a bit more obsessed.

Become obsessed and make power moves that nobody expects.

5. Pointing fingers.

Nobody is responsible for your good or bad fortune except you. Nobody. Deal with it.

6. Judging others.

Rich people aren't necessarily entitled. Many of them worked their butts off for what they have. Poor people aren't lazy, they just don't know any better, and are stuck.

Get past your judgments, and move forward.

7. Needing to have all the answers.

When confronted with a hard question, the best thing you can say is "I don't know." Then go find the answer. You don't have all the answers, but if you're smart enough to surround yourself with motivated people who support you, you'll get the right answer eventually.

8. Seeking perfection.

You will break some eggs on your road to success. Nothing will ever be perfect.

You can strive for greatness, but you can't lament when you miss the mark.

9. Prioritizing comfort.

Throughout your journey, you will be uncomfortable. You will feel insecure. You will feel self-doubt. You may even feel panicked. Get used to that feeling and keep moving.

Discomfort won't kill you. But succumbing to self-pity will.

10. Waiting.

There is never a perfect time to start a business, sell a business, or move to the next challenge in your career.

If you feel the need, take the first step. Right now.

Success Is In Belief - $1k Days Are Ordinary Nowadays

I know you hear it from the gurus that they were broke and at the brink of collapse and so on and so forth, and how they turned their fortunes around (do not necessarily believe what these 'gurus' have to say as they have other dark motives that I want to tell you about another time).

But for me, an ordinary person, with ordinary intellect and ordinary self-doubts, it was absolutely true.

I wish it wasn't so for the sake of my suffering family and for my own will and preserve that were coming to their utter end.

I know now that what got me through was down to "belief".

I had my fingers in a dozen or so so-called 'opportunities' but I had yet to make a single dime. When I thought I'd found a system to make money I just couldn't commit fully as my gut instinct said that something was just wrong.

This went on for months, draining my time, money and my motivation. I was trying to put on a brave face for my partner and family but inside I was deeply concerned. I was also very stressed.

I was totally overwhelmed with the whole business...

I'll share with you now the one true reason why I managed to make a go of internet marketing. It's honest and upfront - I hope you know me to be that by now.

Just as I was about to focus on a particular online venture (no doubt another dead loss), one Friday evening I had a Facebook message from a friend - an also struggling internet marketer: "Want high ticket sales?"

I instantly replied "Yes!", excited but sceptical.

She told me of an opportunity that sounded too good to be true. I was actually sold on the outset, but I was torn - I was also very sceptical at the same time... a very nerve-racking situation. I saw the sense of it but I needed to see more.

I needed proof.

So I decided to hang back a bit. I messaged her daily, asking how she was progressing - I really wanted to know how she was doing. She replied daily, and she was honest with me - she was a friend after all. It was a slow start but she was building...

After just one week she made $97, and within just 2 weeks she got her first $1,000 sale.

That tipped the balance for me, she was a friend and I knew this was true and the one. I was in and started the training and committed. I had the proof that the system worked, so I got involved.

But and a big 'but'.. I couldn't quite completely fully commit. I could see the blueprint working and I could see that it was actually bringing in money, but something deep inside was holding me back.

Belief.

I knew I'd found the system and I knew it was good, but what I didn't know then that I do now; I just had to believe...

The problem was that I had been bitten so many times - I'd been on dozens of webinars, bought countless products and my frustration and overwhelm was, well.. absolutely overwhelming.

I was suspicious.

I know now that this was holding me back from this opportunity... so guess what?

My advice to you is the same as I did my self: Suspend your dis-beliefs when your gut tells you to do so.

Above all, don't be foolish, but "if you don't risk anything, you risk everything"

If you want to change your life and achieve financial freedom, this is absolutely guaranteed - you will get 500% you money back if you do not succeed.... and you only need a single dollar.

...but don't worry, you *won't* want to ask for anything back - you will get money. It's working for me and I'm a newbie to this programme, and it will work for you!

It's also working for hundreds of other like minded entrepreneurs, some have $1,000, $3,000 and even $5,000 days.
